In other KISS news, according to KISSKollector.com, UniversalMusic, which has been KISS' record company for many decades untilband and label went their separate ways in 2003, will be releasingPAUL STANLEY's new solo album. Last month, Paul said he signeda deal with a major label but didn't want to mention the nameyet. However, during his art exhibition at Celebrity Gallery ofCelebrity Fine Art on Hawaii yesterday, he told VH1 ­ whowere on hand to cover his exhibition ­ that he has signeda deal with Universal. Paul's solo album is scheduled for a Septemberrelease. Throughout these decades, KISS releases saw the lightof day on different labels, ranging from Vertigo to Mercury Recordsto Def Jam/Island - so it will be interesting to see on what labelUniversal will actually be releasing Paul's album.

Legendary rock stars and renowned entrepreneurs KISS are openingthe world's first KISS Coffee House! The grand opening took placeon June 27th where both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, originalKISS members cut the ribbon and enjoyed the first ever KISS Coffee.The KISS Coffee House menu will feature Signature KISS Coffee,including Demon Dark Roast and French KISS Vanilla, eight flavorsof the KISS Frozen Rockuccino, the most caffeinated and refreshingcoffee beverage on the market, as well as full array of cookies,brownies and cupcakes. The Boston Globe (www.boston.com) has issued the followingreport courtesy of The Associated Press: A man convicted of killinga call girl who was once married to former KISS guitarist VinnieVincent had his appeal Rejected Wednesday by the state AppellateCourt. Gregory McArthur, formerly of Hartford, maintained thattwo drug dealers were probably responsible for the slaying ofAnnMarie Cusano in 1998. But the court found there was sufficientevidence, including a taped confession and testimony that McArthurled police to Cusano's remains, to convict him of manslaughter.According to the tape, Cusano - who usually served wealthy customers- told McArthur she wasn't comfortable staying with him at a Hartfordboarding house. McArthur said the two argued because she wantedto leave and she refused to take his money. He said there wasa struggle, and at one point he held Cusano in a headlock. Whenhe let go, he said, she collapsed and was no longer breathing.A witness testified McArthur traded Cusano's car for crack cocaine,and took from her purse $30, a bank card, and an American Expresscard belonging to Vincent, the one-time KISS guitarist whose realname is Vincent Cusano. He and AnnMarie Cusano were briefly marriedin the 1980s.

Georgeann Walsh Ward, a former girlfriend of Gene Simmons inthe 1970s, and Mr. Simmons announced today that the parties havereached an amicable resolution of Ms. Ward's suit for defamationin connection with a documentary entitled "When KISS Ruledthe World." The resolution involves no monetary payment toMs. Ward and recognition by her that Mr. Simmons played no rolein the production, editing or selection and inclusion of Ms. Ward'sphotographs in the documentary. In the lawsuit, filed in January2005, Ms. Ward alleged that certain implications concerning herwere created by the juxtaposition of Mr. Simmons' commentary abouthimself and photographs that included Ms. Ward. In response, Mr.Simmons specifically denied that any of the alleged implicationscould be reasonably understood from the documentary. In connectionwith the resolution, Mr. Simmons notes. "I value my earlyrelationship with Ms. Ward and wish her well. My quotes in thedocumentary that Ms. Ward took issue with were solely about me,not Ms. Ward or anyone else." The parties are pleased thatthe action has been amicably resolved.

SCORPIONS,Äô Lonesome Crow (1972) will be remasteredandreissued in Japan on May 18th. The reissue will come in limitededitionpaper sleeve.

A Toronto appeal court has upheld a conviction against the DocksEntertainmentComplex for violating noise bylaws. The nightclub,which sits onthe waterfront at the foot of Cherry St., must pay$6,000 in finesand is prohibited from excessive noise at onepart of its complex.The conviction, stemming from music eventsin the summer of 2001,adds fuel to the longstanding feud betweenthe nightclub and residentsof the Toronto islands.
In July and August 2001, two live music events ,Äîtheheavy-metal OzzFest and Area: One, an assembly of electronica,rockand hip hop ,Äî were held in the club's parkinglot.Nicholas Macos, the lawyer representing the nightclub, callsthecharges "guilt by association."

Big news for ANTHRAX fans! ANTHRAX's official website has beenrevamped,and re-uploaded with a countdown clock, that will markthe reopeningof the bands website. According to SMN News, thecountdown clock,in conjunction with the new look website, alsorepresents an April1st press release and conference that willannounce the reunitingof the Among The Living era ANTHRAX. KISS frontman PAUL STANLEY has gone through two hip replacementsurgeriesand says there's more on the way. Stanley told us thathis degenerativehip condition has not been properly repaired,and he's in the processof deciding what to do next. Plaintiffs Gene Klein (aka GENE SIMMONS), PAUL STANLEY and theirKISSCatalog, Ltd. have made some progress in their lawsuit againstPassportInternational Products, a company that has been sellinga DVD ofa July 10, 1976 concert the band KISS performed at NewJersey'sRoosevelt Stadium. Cathy Kirkman reports in the SiliconValleyMedia Law Blog that a California district court upheldthe federalanti-bootlegging statute, 17 U.S.C. 1101, as constitutional.Kirkmanexplains how "the Court concluded that the legislationwaswithin the scope of the Commerce Clause and not 'fundamentallyinconsistent'with the Copyright Clause."

One of GENE SIMMONS' companies, his Simmons/Abramson Marketingdivision,will be handling the marketing campaign for this year'sseasonof the Indy Racing League, which might explain why Gene(picturedwith one of the racing teams) spent a couple of daysin Indianapolislast month to visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.In December,Gene got some tutoring from the top ranks and alsodined with driverTomas Scheckter and IMS CEO Tony George. State Supreme CourtJustice Rosalyn RichterdeniedSimmons' motion to dismiss twoof three claims by GeorgeannWalshWard, 53, who says in courtpapers made public Friday thatSimmonsslandered her during a"rockumentary" about KISS.Wardsaid in her lawsuit,filed in January, that photos of herappeared11 times duringthe report on KISS, which was shown onthe networkseveral timesin July and August. At one point Simmonssays, "Iwas a 24-hourwhore. All I ever thought about wassex." This,court paperssay, was shown and followed by aphoto of Ward withSimmons. Ward'spapers say that because a photoof her with Simmons- though hername is never mentioned - wasshown during remarksabout his sexualadventures, she was in effectportrayed as "wild"and"unchaste." Both must have been contacted by KISScirca1981,so they obviously were considered as a new KISS guitaristwhenAceFrehley was too drugged out to play with KISS any longer.Anotherguitaristwho was unknown then, Adam Bomb, has also madeit clearhe was askedto audition for KISS back in '81, as wealready quicklymentionedon November 15. In his biography itsays that in 1981"At age16, Adam was asked to auditionfor KISS. I apologize for this edition being posted so late, but I liveinSouth
Florida and things have just started to get back to normal forusafter
Hurricane Wilma. This Thanksgiving, I know I'll be giving thanksfora
few things in
particular ... hot showers, no lines at the gas pumps, cold drinksandAIR
CONDITIONING! Seriously though, I hope all of you who, like me,wentthrough
the experience first hand are safe. It's surreal to know thatjustafew
months
ago, we were all pulling together to help the victims of HurricaneKatrina
and that many of us became the ones needing that help.
I would personally like to thank the Jefferson-Pilot TV and Radiostations

from Atlanta and North Carolina. Here's why. As many ofyouknow,Iwork in

the production department for a major market radio station,Majic102.7FMin
Miami (owned by Jefferson-Pilot) and it truly IS my dream job.Thereisone
downside to my job, however. Since radio is a public service andbecomes
extremely important during a major event like a hurricane, thoseofuson
"Hurricane Duty" had to camp out at the station fortwodays,including
during the
hours at the height of the storm. Thankfully, our building sustained
relatively little damage and we were very fortunate enough tobeprovided
food, water
and a shower. But no one expected Wilma to hit us as badly asshedid.Three
days after the storm, 95% of Miami-Dade and Broward countieswerewithout
power, so almost everyone had to devote themselves to waitingin
EXTREMELY long
lines for basic supplies and gas. Thanks to our sister stationsthough,
every employee at our three stations received all the help werequiredwhich
allowed us to focus on what we were there to do ... serve thepublic.
None of us
really realized how bad things for were for us until those generous
individuals arrived with three trucks filled with water, ice,food,
generators and
even gas! So again, I just want to thank all of the people whowere
involved in
that effort and for helping all of us at Majic 102.7, 101.5 LiteFMand790
The Ticket make it through some very rough days!
Now, as you all know, this month will mark the 14th anniversaryofEric's
passing. Because his family, friends and fans from around theworldhavedone

Nation tour.

AJ Pero of Twisted Sister.Recently, I had thechanceto meetand hang out with AJ beforeand after Twisted Sister'sTampa,Floridaperformance on Saturday,August 20th and thoughtI'd sharethe experiencewith you sinceit was an incredible time!

After Twisted Sister's show in Ft. Lauderdale was postponed indefinitely,myfriendandI decided to take the four hour drive northwestto seethe bandperformin Tampa/St. Petersburg. We met up withAJ andone of hisold highschool friends at sound check and thenwe allwent outto dinner.After the show, we hung out at a coupleofdifferentplaces and eventuallysaid our goodbyes at 6:30 thenextmorning!We talked about manydifferent things throughoutthe nightincludinghis kids, Eric, tattoos,motorcycles, politicsand ofcourse, storiesfrom the road. He alsotold me a littleabout theCD he and hisother band are working onas well as abook he'sin the processof writing in which he'll sharehis lifestory.From when he startedlearning to play the drums tohiscrazy dayson the road with TwistedSister and more, AJ hopesthathis bookwill be a positive experiencefor anyone who readsit andhopesthat it will show that no matterwhat may happenin your life,goodthings will follow if you allowthem to. Wealso talked aboutanupcoming memorial that he is planningtoput together in Eric'shonor.Because most of these projectsarestill in their beginningstages,I'm not going say any moreaboutthem at the moment. Butnever fear.. you'll be the firstto knowwhen the CD and bookare availablefor purchase as wellas whenall the details forthe memorial isfinally worked out!

How was the show you ask?? I can only describe it in one word:INCREDIBLE!Eventhoughthey experienced several technical difficulties,thebandwas AMAZING!They haven't lost a step and I personallycouldn'ttellthe differencebetween the band from 20 years agoand theband today.If you haven'thad a chance to see them live,you DEFINITELYhaveto check themout. Gene Simmons' "Rock School" has finally made it to theUSairwaves!Thefirst episode aired at 11 PM on August 19th onVH-1.In thefirstepisode, Gene arrives at Christs Hospital boardingschoolandsetsabout teaching a music class of 13 year-olds howto rock.He'sforminga new band and his first task is to picka singerfrom thegroupof classically trained musicians.

Now, according to kissasylum.com, in the face-off between newrealityshowsaboutaging hard-rockers returning to school, scorea victoryforKISS'Gene Simmons over Motley Crue's Tommy Lee.Also scorea victoryforcable over broadcast. NBC's cloying "TommyLeeGoes toCollege"never establishes why that rocker wantstobe there.That leavesthe series with a sense of aimlessness.There'sa goofgoing on butwe're not really sure who's beinggoofed. Bycontrast,VH1's "GeneSimmons' Rock School,"which premierestomorrownight, has aclear sense of purpose andnarrative development."RockSchool"is also cheerfuland even cute, if predictable.(Afterits premiere,"RockSchool" switches to 10:30on Fridays,following repeatsofNBC's "Tommy Lee.")

According to several sources, Eric Singer will be touring AustraliawithAliceCooperinJune/July this year. Eric and his Cooperband mateswillbe performing2exclusive shows in Australia ontheir daysoff inSydney (at theAnnandaleHotel, Saturday, June25) and Melbourne(theCorner Hotel,WednesdayJune 29). The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation website (www.mhopus.org)reportsthatSamickMusicCorporation has donated over $16,000worth ofmusicalinstrumentstoMHOF.
