memories of Eric

Staff writer: Nick Clemente
If you're a KISS fan and you live in New Jersey, you've probably heard of Brian Rademacher. Some of his credits include KISS Klassics, a fanzine that ran from 1987 to 1990; photo credits on the Eric Carr video documentary, Tale of the Fox; an appearance in the official KISS book, The Ultimate KISS Fanzine Phenomenon 1976 2009; and his own rock music website, Rockeyez.com? Eric Carr was featured in many issues of KISS Klassics, so I decided to interview Brian for EricCarr.com.
Question 1: How are things at Rockeyez.com?
Better than I've ever expected,
this site was just for fun just a bunch of friends doing what
we love. Writing reviews meeting our favorite rockers going to
shows and getting swags. The beginning stages of our site we started
with twelve hits a day now our average is a million hits per month.
Q2: Do you feel you learn things while working on KISS Klassics that you use with Rockeyez.com?
One thing for sure you need friends on your site. Sometimes things get tough working with friends, you lose some but on the other hand you gain so many new friends. The thing with RockEyez most of the guys I work with I've known twenty years or more and Yes I learned a lot.
Q3: How many times did you see Eric
Carr play live? Does any special show or moment stick out in your
memory?
I would say ten times but the most important was the Palladium
show in New York City which I photographed was an adrenaline rush,
Eric was amazing.
Q4: You met Eric several times. Was he always the upbeat funny guy we know him to be? Any funny stories?
Eric was ALWAYS great to fans and friends. Anytime you wanted an autograph no problem. The funniest story is Eric always had his eyes on the ladies even when signing an auto he can sign and keep his eye on a woman at the same time, plain and simple he was the best and most approachable member of Kiss by far.
Q5: What is your favorite KISS song from the Eric Carr years?
I really love Hide Your Heart but I thought Eric did a killer job on Black Diamond and Beth
Q6: How did you get involved in the Tale of the Fox project?
I was just asked because I was a big collector back in the day. It was Bill DeMild and myself who supplied most of the memorabilia for the Museum at the first Kiss Expo in New Jersey.
Q7: In the KISS fanzine book you mention
being a big KISS collector. What is your favorite piece of Eric
Carr memorabilia?
I had this plaque that came from Australia of an Eric Carr solo
album like the Kiss solo albums. Basically anything that came
from Australia with Eric on it was big for me. The Cards, Ice
cream wrappers things like that.
Q8: If you could ask Eric one question
today, what would it be?
Yes, would you have liked to keep your original make-up you used
at The Palladium compared to what it ended up being?
Q9: Where was this picture of Eric Carr and you taken?
I think it was down at SIR studios in NYC
Q10: Any last thoughts?
Eric was always a kind person and his family members have always had open arms to me. Loretta (Eric's sister) always welcomed me over her home and every once in awhile I will stop over. Eric's parent installed great morals on their children which many can learn from. Eric will always be missed.
