From: Ballard Chicoyne
I've had this cd for a long time now,and only came across it by chance. It proves that Eric has a tremendous pressence with his vocals and of course his drums. "Eyes Of Love" shows his powerful captivating voice which should have appeared on KISS albums. His drumming on the whole cd is just what any real Eric Carr fan can feel. The lyrics in EYES OF LOVE, SOMEBODY'S WAITING; TIARA, and CAN YOU FEEL IT prove he could actually write great songs. Any of these songs here could have blown alot of the actual KISS songs out of the water and most deffinately should have appeared on albums. My favourite is "JUST CAN'T WAIT" it's a magnificent tune, does great as an instrumental, shows passion and ring rides off the snare which I can't remember in any KISS tune. This cd only tells us what we all ready know, Eric Carr is the most powerful member of KISS now and forever. Paul and Gene should hang their heads in shame for not letting his talent show through. I still don't hate them, they're great togeather. I'd like to thank Bruce for letting Eric live on through his music, and if there is more floating around out there DON'T LET IT GO BY THE WAYSIDE, we the fans want it and just can't get enough, the more I hear the more I want. I beleive Eric is the GREATEST drummer that ever lived without question and probably the nicest guy. I have never heard anyone speak negative of him, which is a rare thing nowdays, ERIC CARR WILL ALWAYS BE THE ULTIMATE DRUMMING GOD and is missed dearely " LONG LIVE THE FOX".
From: Ken P.
Eric was a role model to me when I started playing the local circuit of Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. It is nice to be able to own hi unreleased work, but I do wish it featured more actual drums rather than drum machines. He was a killer player, and his fans should be able to realize that again and again. What the world of KISS Fans need now is a video piece sanctioned by Gene and Paul (since they own all the quality footage we need to see). It is worth owning this piece of music, and it can be found cheap in some locations, not some high importers tag.
From: Amanda Clothier
I thought it was a really awesome album. I personally loved 'Tiara', because it was
just so beautiful. Eric's voice really made it that way. And of course, number 8 was
cool. But over all, awesome.
From: Dan Davis
I'll keep this short since most of the reviews reflect my opinion. Especially that Eric's talent was totally wasted in KISS! It's obvious his great voice and musicianship would have upstaged Gene and Paul and they would have lost ALOT of the spotlight (same goes if Bruce were given a shot). TIARA is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It is done with such emotion. I'm pissed off writing this because I can't believe his talent was suppressed! Thanx, Bruce, for giving the fans a chance to hear what we already knew(Little Ceasar, Beth); that Eric had a great passion for music and life. He is greatly missed.
From: Jan Starchild
Got the album and it is a superb album well worth purchasing especially hearing erics vocals talent its a wonder none of these tracks appeared on any kiss album, it is a fitting tribute to a great talent that was took from us to soon. thanks for this release.

What can I say? Eric Carr's "Rockology" CD is the ONE CD that millions of Eric Carr/Kiss fans have been waiting for to hear lost tracks from Kiss' Drum Killer,Eric Carr! All 12 tracks prove to be ones to stand out in everyones mind:
EYES OF LOVE:The 1st song that kicks in w/ an exploding beat that proved that Eric knew how to rock with the best of them. A great song to start off a excellent album.
SOMEBODY'S WAITING:A beautiful song of love from Eric that showed us his soft side & proved there's always someone waiting for us out there and Eric's voice shines on this one.
HEAVY METAL BABY:No singing, but killer drums, guitars, & bass that only proves Eric's solos really outshined everyone else in the 80's. I for one would've liked to hear what lyrics Eric could've come up with.
JUST CAN'T WAIT:No lyrics, but still a wonderfull track w/ a great array of keyborads.
MAD DOG:Eric shows us that without lyrics you can still have great music and this one has alot of bite(No pun intended).Another great instrumetal from Eric.
YOU MAKE ME CRAZY:Eric at his finest once more w/ another instrumental song. This one would've made it big with some catchy lyrics, but still Eric shines better than ever.
NIGHTMARE & NIGHTMARE(LIVE DEMO):Eric's best instrumental by far that would've made a great song with lyrics. Makes me think Eric was going over to touch base with a cool sound like Queensryche that sounded differnet from the Kiss sound he was known for.The live demo shows us all Eric professionalism for the studio & it was great to hear Eric's laugh at the end.
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL:One of the 4 songs for "The Rockheads" cartoon. He really sings his heart out here & makes us remember the boy inside the man. Also a good one for all the rebel teens to refelct on.
TIARA:By far the BEST track on here.Eric shows his love for a woman here just like Paul Stanley did with "I Still Love You". Eric's ballad for "The Rockheads" makes all the girls wanna fall in love in Eric & guide all the men's hearts to show their love for a woman.Eric really shines with his voice on this one.
CAN YOU FEEL IT: I think everyone can feel it with this one.Eric at his best again showing he knew how to rock!
NASTY BOYS: A great last track that really kicks butt!Eric at his hardest showing us that we all can be a little nasty.A killer tune with great lyrics.
I feel everyone should go out and buy Eric Carr's "Rockology" and crank it up! It makes for one of the best solo LP's from any Kiss members.

I love it!!!! need i say more?? I read a lot of what everyones been writing here....& i cant disagree with any of them whatsoever...what kiss wait what eric carr fan would disagree.....bruce u might have read my past 2 letters to the union fan mail....& by my letters you can tell just how disgusted i was with the so called 2founding fathers of kiss....they are disgraceful im sorry people who are kiss fans still....do any of you remember in 78 when the paid tributes to each of themselves?? cause if any of you remember from i think the exposed tape....paul said in his words hey lets not split ...lets make albums & dedicate it to each other/ in irony when they decided to sell out for the money & dont be fooled it was all 4 the money why else would they get the original 4 back?? any of you remember them kickin ace out cause of the/..i am not so sure if this was the rumors but that he was doin drugs...& peter leaving cause of the hectic lfestyle he couldnt cope with it?? well let me make this more clear for everyone to open their eyes....eric died...in 91...& they carried on like eric would have wanted it..as bruce mentioned & i believe in that also....the one thing that gets me...is that they only released one song the carr jam ....& then said the album was dedicated to eric. to me that showed no class...only because after he died they made alive 3/ never put out the final sessions...til the original 4 got back 2gether...& now bruce not gene & paul ..bruce & the caravello family had to push this to get it out....thats where i lost all respect for kiss....i always felt bruce was overshadowed by ace....but ace may have been a great player but his technique ...over & over redundant...whereas bruce....outshines ace...more talented....his range is much wider...did ace ever play blueslike guitar?? & mind you...that may have been their best sellin album in the commercial industry ...& could have done just as well w/out forever on it....but forever put the album over the edge which is why it sold so much...i love the song forever...i picked up tale of the fox & couldnt get over the similiarities in eric & pauls voice sound a bit alike....i think they do....my favorites off of rockology: 1 eyes of love 2 can u feel it 3 somebodys waiting 4 even without vocals just cant wait...i think is a great song almost an anthem in itself....to all that write in...i dont know about u...but i listen to union & erics cds more then i do kiss...& to tell u the truth i only listen to the tenure of erics performance with the band..more then the original 4....i really feel eric & bruce make the band that much better....it gave you the straight up rock or metal scene that it was meant to be....in 82 creatures, 83 lick it up, 84 animalize...those probably their hardest edge 85 WELCOME, BRUCE on! the GUITAR!!! asylum, in 87 crazy nights ..an all out anthemed album...smashes....need i say more?? hot in the shade....& revenge one of their better made albums...as in comparison to destroyer one question why is it u cant find any bootlegs of crazy nights with turn on the night live? did u guys ever do that song live?? but over all .....with eric's cd....cant get enough of it...im like i hope there are other songs or pieces of his they can release....i swear i keep on missing eric ....I WILL NEVER 4GET HIM....just wish i had the chance to meet him...& everytime i listen to his cd i get goose bumps cause hes gone & what hes left behind....the heart the soul the passion....he was so talented he played every instrument...knew how to play guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, & of course his trademark his MIGHTY THUNDEROUS DRUMMING OF A GOD THAT HE WAS....he makes me wanna learn to play drums...& im teaching myself guitar...now more then ever wanna learn the drums!!!!! sorry to take up so much space & it all wasnt about his cd but this is how i feel gene & paul treated him.....at least bruce & the caravello family has the class to dignify erics talents & let us be fortunate enough to get to own erics contribution to his fans.....i know i can speak for everyone here when i say WE ALL MISS YOU ERIC....& WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED BY US ALL..YOUR EVER LOYAL DEDICATED FANS THAT WOULD BE PROUD TO EVEN AS FAR & SAY WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE BEEN FAMILY TO YOU....HELL THIS ERIC CARR FANBASED CRITIQUE IS ERICS FAMILY...WELL NEXT TO HIS BLOOD FAMILY....THAT IS
From: Michael Tinney
OK BRUCE DID A GREAT JOB KEEPING ERICS MEMORY ALIVE..PAUL, ...GENE ITS YOUR TURN. Rockology is the album that show cases erics talents that paul and gene wouldnt let show and thats a damn shame. every song here is a classic. tiara rivals forever and makes beth look like a quaint fireside singalong.eyes of love is the difinitive kiss classic starter..to bad it never saw the light of day on a kiss album. somebodys waiting...lets face it people erics balleds are equal to pauls, instant hit here i think ,to bad theres no videos to back up the songs. Tracks 3 thru 8 have great music to bad the vocals arent there. then theres the last four tacks. much to cool for school is great, can you feel it yeah i sense a little bryon adams here how about you? tiara the best balled ive heard by a kiss member bar none. can you feel it is another hit that should have been used on a kiss album but we wont go there. nasty boys...gotta love this one..maybe one day the rockheads will make it to tv and this song will be on for the whole world to hear.cheers to bruce for this loveing tribute, and jeers to paul and gene for letting erics talents fall by the wayside like that. lets see another eric carr cd done by gene and paul..andi believe that rockology should be placed in the kiss catalouge, to bad its on a smaller label
From: Bob Mitnik
Well the overall opinion of the cd is pretty good. The track,"Somebodies Waiting" I
think is the best song on the cd.The song "Nightmare" if finished could have been
a really good Kiss song. The songs written for his cartoon show are a little bit cheesy but that was probly what he wanted.I am still wondering why Gene and Paul waited so long to let him sing.He shows on this cd that he can do just that.If the fans are satisfied with
the "Little Caesar" song then they should go out and pick this one up.
From: Tyler Cole
It took me a long time to locate this CD and when I finally did, it was a wonderful surprise to say the least. Bruce Kulick...hats off to you for putting these songs together and treating them with respect that they truly deserve. Secondly, thank you for respecting Eric enough to make sure that these songs were heard at all. What saddens me most is that Eric, for whatever reasons, never got the chance to show this side of himself to KISS fans through any CD other than "H.I.T.S." Every track on this CD shows incredible musicality, diversity, and power. The styles in which he wrote range from "Beatleesque" (Tiara) to somewhat progressive in nature (Somebody's Waiting)to the guitar driven "Eyes of Love". For me personally, this is a great tribute to someone that, I strongly feel, deserves it. The song that most appealed to me however was "Just Can't Wait". I really love this song. It's too bad that there weren't any lyrics for it, but just the same, it is a great song. Thank you Bruce Kulick...it is obvious to me that you are all about class and dignity. Those are two very important reasons why you will always be my personal favorite KISS guitarist/songwriter...
From: John Felton
This is truely something I did not expect from Eric. I mean , I knew he was very talented but didn't realize just how much until I heard this Album. Eric will forever be one of the worlds greatest drummers to me , and now , will be one of the worlds greatest songwriters too! From the very start of this Album to the very end , it kept me tuneing in for more . If there is more of Erics stuff out there , it needs to be put out and heard !!!!!! I'm sure any KISS fan and Eric Carr fan would demand that this happen ! This is truely an Album that should be deemed a classic in every sense of the word . "Eyes of Love" is so far my favorite cut off of this , at least in my eyes , certifiable triple to quadruple platinum disc. And why not , this thing starts like a frieght train and just doesn't stop until your ready to drop ! That's what I like in an album and that's what I expect from any artist.
From: Carla
I like all the album but specially the songs "TIARA" and "CAN YOU FEEL IT." Those songs get inside my heart they are very cool, and show the really power of Eric Carr. With this album he shows that he was the must powerfull member of KISS. That he has more talent but we know that some members of KISS never let him show it. Thanks for that album .
From: Dave
I can NOT say enough good stuff about this CD, Actually I got the ROCKHEADS Cd first and after hearing that, I wanted to hear MORE!! I was SO impressed with it and I have to admit as much as I am a fan of ALL KISS including EVERYTHING they did in the 80's as well as with the original lineup, THIS ROCKOLOGY CD just blew away some of the albums KISS was doing at the time, I mean this clearly shows that ERIC, Had he of ever left the band would have had a promising solo career after KISS, a BIG THANK YOU to BRUCE and ERIC's family for pushing to get this music out and HEARD!!! I think that "TIARA" is one of the greatest and most beautiful ballads I have ever heard. "SOMEBODY's WAITING" is one of those songs that after you hear it the first time, it sticks in your head and doesn't leave . I REALLY would have liked to hear what would have become with "JUST CAN'T WAIT" with vocals on it, that was another REALLY catchy one, "Can you feel it" is another one that stays with you long after you hear it. It makes me wonder why some of this stuff did not get the "ok" by Gene and Paul for a KISS album, because EVERY SONG on this album blows away "LITTLE CEASER" in my opinion. I think this is one of the greatest CD's to come out in a LONG time, EVERY SONG has a "Hook" to it and should have been released on a major label, and I think the same goes for the Mark St. John Project CD. Both Eric and Mark stay true to the classic hard rock formula. IF more albums like this came out TODAY, the music of TODAY with all the ALTERNATIVE GARBAGE would NOT be so PATHETIC!!!!!!! Again...To Bruce and the Caravello family: THANK YOU FOR GETTING THIS OUT TO THE FANS!!!!!! My only complaint is that the TWO CELLERMEN tracks were not included somewhere "I cry at night" and "Your turn to cry".
From: Richard
I'd like to send a great big, huge THANK YOU to BRUCE KULICK, and to the Caravellos, for all the effort and care that went into the ERIC CARR - ROCKOLOGY CD. For anyone who hasn't heard it, I highly recommend that you check out the RealAudio site in KISS ASYLUM -- you can hear the entire album, and it's well worth it. It brought tears to my
eyes, especially during the song "Tiara", which I feel shows Eric's kind and caring nature extremely well. I really want to thank Bruce, in particular -- it's obvious that he poured his heart into this project, and this CD shows some of his greatest guitar work ever, tastefully done so as not to take the spotlight away from Eric. It's clear that this is an album created out of the highest respect and dedication to his dear friend, and I feel Bruce has done an extraordinary job. It's obvious that he wished to show the world that Eric had written some very STRONG material, some very DESERVING material. Thank you, Bruce. Eric's talent as a songwriter (or co-writer) really shines on this CD, even though some of the songs are incomplete. I feel that several songs on this CD are, or have the potential to be, notably better than some of the ones that actually appeared on late 80s Kiss albums. In particular, "Somebody's Waiting" and "Tiara". "Tiara" would probably have been one of the band's strongest power ballads of all time, and would have made a MUCH better single than "Forever", better than "ETILAY", MUCH better than "NCKMFY", etc... I think it would actually be one of my favorite Kiss songs. The same goes for "Somebody's Waiting", which really reflects Eric's Zeppelin influence but would sound right at home on, say, Paul's
solo album [a little bit similar to "Take Me Away (Together As One)"], and "Eyes of Love" is a rocker that would sound great live. And there are others. Why, oh why, didn't these songs ever get released as bona fide Kiss tunes on Kiss albums?? Eric's style complements both Gene's and Paul's amazingly well! It's a shame, and if it weren't for Bruce and the
Caravellos, we might well never know. I'd urge you to check this album out, at the RealAudio site in kissasylum.com if you haven't heard it yet. It's a crime that Eric's songwriting talent has remained obscure for so long. Thank you, Bruce, for your caring attention to this album, and for all the great guitar playing, too. And thank you Kiss Asylum and Next Level Productions for making the soundtrack available to just about anyone with Internet access.
From: Dan Castiel
I would like to start off this review by saying how much I really enjoyed this CD.
I had heard the tracks for the Rock Heads cartoon when I received the four song E.P.
and was instantly blown away by the song writing and musicianship. So when I
received the Rockology CD I was expecting some really amazing music. I was actually
very surprised at how well the songs stood up to todays standards. They were not dated.
It is a bit difficult to give an unbiased oppinion, because I have always enjoyed everything that Eric has ever done whether it being in KISS or on his own. Every one of these songs portray an innocence and sophistication that no Gene,& Paul song can convey. Out of the completed tracks "Somebody's Waiting", and the Rock Head's songs are my personal favorites. "Eyes of Love" could also easily been one of KISS' standards. I'm going to end this review (basically because I've written a book already) by highly recommending this
CD. You will not be dissatisfied. Eric, all of your friends and fans are proud of this CD and miss you very much.
From: Josh
I feel this album is one of the best ever released! Every song promotes feeling and just really rocks. "Somebody's Waiting" is a well constructed ballad from the Hot in the Shade sessions. Although it wasn't released on the Hot in the Shade album it stands up to any of the songs on that album, including "Forever". The rock head's songs sound fresh and original, even in the year 2000. Any one of the tracks would certainly stand up to todays song writing, since all of the songs are written with such eloquence. "Heavy Metal Baby", although has just scat vocals recorded, certainly would be KISS standard if it was released on any other KISS album.
From: Steve Eastridge
Rockology proves what I have known for a long time, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley had a good reason for not using Eric's material that he wrote and letting him be more in the forefront....THEY WERE SCARED! They knew if he got to show all of his talent's that it would no longer be the Paul and Gene show.' Eye's of Love' is an amazing song. It is so much more real rock and roll than anything KISS has done since the 70's. 'Somebody's Waiting' is another great song. In the era that these songs wre written both of them would have been hits. It's a shame that alot of the songs on Rockology didn't see completion, but you don't have to be a KISS fan, or even a fan of Eric to see that the man was talented. He could have easily risen above KISS. I wonder if he knew that? I think he did. He just loved KISS so much that he was willing to wait his turn to be up front.I seen Eric's parent's on the Tale of the Fox video. He was lucky to have parents like that, they are so proud of Eric ,as they should be. I would like to thank Bruce Kulick for making sure that we get to hear eric's music, he is Eric's true friend. As for Gene and Paul, now the KISS fans can see some of Eric's music you two passed over, so you could put the songs you paid other people to write for you, on your recordings. Rockology proves Eric had big plans for himself and KISS. His ideas were fresh, honest the way KISS was at one time. One can only imagine just how far he would have gone. One things for sure, he is a legend now and he will always live on through his music and our memories. Thanks Eric
From: Royston Invader
This is a great anthology. Some of the tracks are really amazing. Why on earth didn't KISS make the most of Eric in the band? Well I suppose most of us know why, but at least the talent of the man has been showcased in style here. Three cheers to all those involved in the production, and belated thanks to Eric for giving the fans something amazing to remember him by.
From: Chuck Oney
I always wondered why Paul and Gene never did any of Eric's songs. Now after listening to them, I can't help but wonder if they were hoping he would develope more of a style of his own. Though it is good, the songs to me sound like Paul's and Gene's. Though Eric's singing style is closer to Gene's, I now see why they were hestitant to record his songs. But I really like "Somebody's Waiting." That song should have been on a KISS album! Too bad we didnt get to hear more because I'm sure it would have been awesome.RIP Eric
From: Mark Johnston
This album is better than any of that garbage Gene and Paul shoved down our throats in the 80's. Its easy to see why Gene and Paul never released this, they did not want the world to see how much more talented Eric was than them.
From: Becky Ludington
This is one of the best cds I have ever heard! "Eyes of love" has that 80's KISS sound to it. "Somebody's Waiting" makes me think that there was someone special he was dreaming of when he wrote it,(personally I would say that this song is my favorite). Some of the other songs aren't fished but still sound great. The songs "Tiara" and "Can you feel It" are great songs for the Rockheads cartoon he was making. Eric was a very special person and this cd just shows some of his talent as a song writer and singer. We miss you Eric.
From: Randy McBrayer
Haven't heard it yet, but can say that "Tiara" will bring tears to your eyes. It is then that you realize just how cool he was (AND STILL IS!!!). It REALLY sucks that Paul and Gene didn't give Eric the "forest in which to explore." Guess with that, they were threatened that again, the DRUMMER WOULD BE THE ONE WITH THE HITS! I love Paul and Gene with ALL my heart-can't remember a day in my life without them there, but I think musically, they are insecure about others gaining the spotlight, and upstaging them. How many pitiful Gene songs could have been TRASHED (i.e. "Murder In High Heels" ? What is that shit anyway?) for a cool track by Eric? What a waste of talent. I am an Eric look alike in Dallas, TX. The respect that Eric gets through ME is impressive. It gives his fans a chance to "say goodbye" and feel like they can gain closure to the "Nightmare" (sorry Eric, had to do it for ya!) I'll never forget my meetings with him--one of which was featured on the Tale of The Fox tape--an in-store at Sound Warehouse in Carrollton, TX. He always had a smile, nice word about SOMETHING pertaining to you, and genuine interest that you were in his life. I hope everyone enjoys the CD. Now, with it out, we can "kidnap" Eric from Kiss, and enjoy him all for ourselves--once, and for all. Special thanks to Bruce and the Caravello Family. Now, it doesn't feel like he's that far away from us, knowing that we can enjoy his merchandise, and see his face and image on new products for our pleasure. Perhaps it has been the absence that will help us realize how influential he was to us.May God bless all of you reading this, and have a Very happy Holiday Season--Maybe You'll have an Eric Carr grab bag on that very special day!
From: Scott
The purchase of this album is worth more then money. This album has songs that pump you up and have tunes that you can tap you foot to. I love it. It's amazing any kiss fan or non kiss fan would love this album.
From: lp31@mindspring.com
I cant beleive how talanted Eric was. I was shocked when I first heard this CD. My favorite lineup is the original 4 - nothing will ever compare, but it is sad to realize that this music is 100 times better than anything Gene ever put out during the 80's. KISS would surely have had a much stronger market presence had these songs been included on thier albums. Great that his sister has made these avaiable now. God bless Eric Carrs soul. We miss him.
From:Eric Knight
AWESOME!! True rock energy!! Very KISS-ish; it is Criminal that these songs did not see the light of day on any of the KISS lps! Gene and Paul should be ashamed of themselves! "Somebody Waiting" is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard; definitely up their w/ "I Still Love You" and "Forever"! Man! I tell you what, I thought "Little Caesar" was cool. These songs kick some SERIOUS ASS!! Gene or Paul, if you're reading this, which I hope you are, show us Eric Carr fans how much he really meant to you. Dig through your archives and release your own Eric Tribute album!! Thank you Bruce for finally giving us a taste of Eric's true talent and abilities! I look forward to more material from the late Fox!! God Bless Eric Carr!
From: Robert Rodriguez
If we were to time travel back to 1978, when KISS made the solo albums, and Eric would have been the drummer instead of Peter, this album would have been the TOP SELLER. It's just awesome to hear Eric perform cause he was a man out of time. He literaly made KISS a harder sounding band when he joined, and yet they never let him use his other talents on the albums, IT'S JUST CRAZY!!! Eric lived for the fans, and this CD expresses that feeling all the way. My only regret is that they should have put the painting that an artist did for the "proposed" Fox solo album, but still it's the ULTIMATE ERIC CARR CD!!! ERIC'S LEGACY LIVES ON!!!
From: Lori Gerogevich
Where should I start? The CD is awesome. Not only should KISS fans buy this CD, but any rock fan will surely love the music on the CD. "Somebody's Waiting" would have definitely been a Top 10 hit, probably Number 1. I don't know why it was never put on a KISS record. This song blows "Forever" away. Eric had many talents and it is unfortunate that we only got to hear his drumming! "Can You Feel It" is one of the coolest songs. You can close your eyes and see the Rockheads characters come to life! I hope more develops from the Rockheads. A cartoon would be perfect!
From: Eric Neibecker
Awesome!!! This is the only word to describe it. Even though some of the tracks are demos, this is an incredible album. A must-have for any KISS fan. My only thought after listening was "why didn't they use more of Eric's material on KISS albums??? Quite a few of these tracks could have been really big. Get your copy NOW and you'll see!!!
From: J Duron
I just finished listning to the Eric Carr album and my first impression was what a waste by not letting him sing and write more on the KISS albums. The quality of the audio I received was poor and kept coming and going at times. The vocals on Heavy metal baby were very faint but I liked the music. "Can you feel it" and some of the other slow songs or ones with mixed tempos were my favorites. Gene and Paul need to dig through their material and include some of his stuff on their Box set!
From: Lori Sergent
Last nite, DONNIE -N- I listened to the samples of The ERIC CARR ROCKOLOGY songs. We LOVED them!! Very moving to hear him again. BRUCE deserves MAJOR hugs and thanx for keeping ERIC's memory so vibrant and for letting us all hear stuff that has been sitting for over 12 years. Some of the tracks are VERY KISS-like...VERY HOT IN THE SHADE-ey and as DONNIE pointed out to me very ASYLUM-ey. You can hear PAUL's vocals on some and that is cool, too. ERIC's drumbeats are, as always, infectious and heavy. You feel them from the bottom of your feet to the tip of your head; AMAZING drummer. It gets your feet goin' in a MAJOR way. I am REEEALLLLLY looking forward to getting this cd as well as the video for TALE OF THE FOX. There is one song , that ERIC wrote for Carrie Stevens, his girlfriend...WARNING!!! No eyeliner should be worn while listening to that one. It is a BUTTTEEEFULLL song, heartfelt and honest and real. He basically wrote down and said how he felt about her and put sweet music to it. It isn't a SAD song , persay, it's a love song, but the circumstances can't help sticking in one's mind while listening to it and THAT is what made me sniffle. Granted, I cry at EVERYTHING, but this song just touched me. I am SUCH a sucker for real love and THAT is what radiates from this song. The music alone will tear at your heartstrings. My fave one on the list. One track I REALLLLY dug was Can You Feel It. LOVE it!!!Somebody's Waiting kicked MAJOR butt!! Perdy song!!! Eyes Of Love is a good one too with Good riffs. BRUCE shines thru on these tracks and his style blends SOOOO well with ERIC's. I hightly recommend listening to these tracks and getting the cd. I am sure the cd quality will be MUCH better than these samples. They lowered his vocals a bit and that sounded weird. But, other than that, I am LOVING these tracks. Too Cool For School is reminiscent of Smokin' In The Boys Room, a' la' MOTLEY CRUE. Remember, a lot of these songs, most of them, were thought of and written in the late 80's, so that is the vibe one get's from them and I for one, LOVED the 80's music!!!! It all boiled down to one word, FUN, and ROCKOLOGY is definitely that. A very warm and loving tribute to our beloved FUZZBALL. I know he is up there, smiling down, VERY happy right now.
From: Dave McIntyre
As I write this I am listening to "Somebody's Waiting" and fighting back the flood of emotions flowing though me. I had the privilege (and honor) of seeing Eric perform in Vancouver, BC on the Hot In The Shade tour - he amazed me with his talent then and still does. Eric we miss you and the joy you brought to millions of fans wordwide. You have touched us, made us laugh, smile and realize how short life really is. When you past on the world lost more than we will ever realize.
From: Kevin Bolick
WHAT THE HELL COULD PAUL & GENE HAVE BEEN THINKING? I just don't get it. Paul was asked in an interview once why Eric didn't sing on the studio albums and he said "the ideal would be for Eric to come up with a great song- there is a certain dilemma," whatever the hell that means. Geez, these songs ROCK! "Somebody's Waiting" could have easily been Eric's "Beth" and "Eyes of Love" and "Can You Feel It" are awesome rockers that are just as good as any of Gene & Paul's 80's stuff! Bruce's guitar work is amazing also. "ROCKOLOGY" is a definate must-have for any fan of "The Fox" and a true showcase for Eric's killer voice & song writing skills. Gene and Paul should be ashamed...

I just got it in the mail a couple of hours ago and am listening to it for the first time. I must say that I am very impressed! Especially with the song 'Somebody's Waiting', all in all a great collection of Eric's unrealeased material. Bruce Kulick has made some great choices for material to include.

Finally I got the Eric Carr cd, "Rockology." Since Eric was in KISS I was waiting to hear him more on vocals on the KISS-albums. It only resulted in the cover of Beth and the track Little Ceasar, a great song! So, I'm waiting for this album since Eric passed away (I find it still a shame that KISS didn't gave a tribute-concert for him!) and finally here it is. I'm amazed by this record. Eric is to hear on leadvocals on every song! 4 tracks were already released on the Rockheads e.p. and they were great. When I hear the other 8 tracks I'm almost blown away with Eric's musical & vocal talent. Hearing songs such as "Eyes Of Love," "Somebody's Waiting" or "Tiara"; you know what I mean. Some of these songs could easily appeared on a KISS album. It's a shame that that didn't happen in the past. Also Bruce Kulick did a great job and he's definatly a true friend of Eric. Also included is a free bonus-cd with 3 extra tracks, an alternative track of "Eyes Of Love" and a track from ESP & Bruce Kulick. There is a very nice booklet which includes notes by Bruce and a lot of great photo's. This album is just great and will blow you away. This is the legacy of Eric for his fans!!!

This is a hard rocking album. It really showcases Eric's strength and talent. He is sorely missed. Excellent album for KISS fans and rock fans in general.

Rockology is fantastic. It really shows that Eric should have had more to do with the song mix on KISS albums. "Eyes of Love" kicks some butt and "Somebody's Waiting" is very cool. Eric will always be one of my favorite KISS members. ERIC WE MISS YOU

It's very disappointing to know that KISS never used any of this material on past albums. I can't believe how talented Eric Carr was. This CD just blew me away. I had to listen to it twice in a row because of how good it was. Even though some of the material is unfinished with Eric doing "scat" in place of the lyrics, it is an incredible piece of music that I know I will cherish for many, many years to come. It's a shame that someone so talented was taken at such a young age. The only explaination I can come up with is that GOD is a KISS fan. Eric Carr will always be one of my biggest drumming influences.

Since recieving it two weeks ago 90% of the music I have listen to has been off Rockology. The CD is excellent I wish the words scatted in tracks 3 thur 8 would have been written and sent with the album but the music is great.

Fans of Eric Carr should be blown away by this disc. The singing he did with KISS was only the tiniest glimpse of his vocal talents. It almost seems like he was encouraged to sound like Gene on things such as "Young and Wasted" and "Black Diamond." The closest he came vocally to what he was capable was on his reluctant version of "Beth." Now, on "Rockology," we get to hear his full range of emotions, from the heavy-pop of the KISS-tinged "Eyes of Love" to the anguished yearning of "Somebody's Waiting" and "Tiara." The only unfortunate thing about his singing is that only half of the songs on the disc showcase it. It's nice to hear the demos, but oh! to have all the vocals. Playing-wise, Eric was in great form on this album. Even though most of the drumming is programmed, it was done by Eric and still shows his natural feel for rock & roll, something that never seemed to be completely believable in the jazz-oriented Peter Criss. Eric also gets to showcase a lot of other playing talent, and he did bass on the album, as well as acoustic guitar on one of the tracks! And then there's Bruce...in my opinion, KISS did the fans a great disservice by terminating his services. His guitar just shines, on track after track. Some of this album sounds like KISS, and some of it sounds like what KISS COULD have been had they continued to make forward musical progress. This is definitely a disc that deserves a place in the collection of any KISS/Eric Carr fan.

12 tracks, RT: 47:17 (free Rock Hard sampler: 3 tracks, RT: 11:18) I'm biased, so what? I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the relatively unheralded Carr, who did the unthinkable by replacing an original member in Kiss way back in 1980... He held down the fort that whole decade and died young in '91. Despite singing in bands before joining Kiss, he was rarely given the opportunity to write or sing on any KISS albums. The songs on ROCKOLOGY are demos he wrote back in '87 and '89 with then-bandmate/guitarist Bruce Kulick and co-writer Adam Mitchell. ROCKOLOGY therefore isn't really a true album--some songs are incomplete and have either scat or no vocals at all--but for those of us who always wanted Carr to have a bigger piece of the Kiss pie, it's a godsend. "Eyes Of Love" and "Somebody's Waiting" are the two most complete songs, both featuring Kulick solos that were recently overdubbed, and they wisely kick off the album. "Eyes" is a great song
with a chunky riff and cowbells in the intro (always a sure sign of a hit!), and Eric sings with a gritty gusto recalling vintage Gene Simmons--and you can just about visualize Paul Stanley doing harmony vocals in the grooving chorus. "Somebody's Waiting" is an emotional power ballad with nice layered vocals that also could've been '80s Kiss harmonies. "Heavy Metal Baby" has a sassy Gene-like attitude that defies its cutesy title, and the dirty guitar parts sort of foreshadow what Kulick would do on REVENGE ('92). That Carr sass pops up again in "Mad Dog," another mid-tempo rocker with scat vocals in the verse and a partially complete chorus. "Just Can't Wait" is a breezy, summery tune with just the right bit of acoustic guitar to make it catchy as hell, despite the total lack of vocals. It's a crime the up-tempo "You Make Me Crazy" wasn't finished, as Kulick really rips through it in a fun way. Two versions of "Nightmare" are included, one being almost
complete and sporting a gutsy chug and passionate scat vocals that yet again could've been even cooler with Stanley harmonies; the second version is a raw demo that's only worth listening to once or twice, to hear the tape recorder Carr and Kulick were using crash to the floor in the middle of the session. The last four songs are taken from the
limited edition ROCKHEADS EP that came out last year; these three rockers and one ballad were written to be used in a cartoon show Carr had under development. The disc comes packaged with a three-song Rock Hard Records sampler with the following tracks: 1) an "alternate version" of "Eyes Of Love" that sounds suspiciously like the "more primitive version" Kulick refers to in the album's liner notes; 2) ESP's (Eric Singer Project) cover of "Four Day Creep" from their s/t debut; and 3) a demo of Kulick's "495," a noteworthy hotshot guitar instrumental from his upcoming solo album. The ROCKOLOGY booklet comes complete with nice track-by-track liner notes penned by Kulick, lyrics to half the songs, and a killer collection of photos, including one with Carr and the stud monkey from Kiss' "Exposed" home video. :) Some of these tunes easily should've been given a shot during Carr's tenure with Kiss. Damn shame...

I had a very nice treat the other day. I was privileged to hear 'Somebody's Waiting" from the upcoming release Rockology from Eric Carr thanks to the producers of the CD. People I gotta tell you I was blown away by it. The chord changes are classic KISS sound, it's heavy in the vein of "I Still Love You," and the chorus "Somebody's waiting for you" makes me sad to think as if God was singing that to say he was waiting for Eric. But it's really about finding love and somebody being out there waiting for you to find them and fall in love. The lyrics are so emotionally charged, with the lethal combination of Eric's vocal delivery and easily the best drumming Eric has ever done with any band on any record. It makes you wonder why this didn't appear on "Hot In the Shade" & why Gene & Paul held Eric back and never used any of his songs except "Little Caesar." I can't wait to hear the rest of the CD. I thought the "Rockheads" was a treat, well it turns out that was just an appetizer, this disc of unreleased material will be the main course and the video "Tale Of The Fox" will be dessert. Thanks to Bruce Kulick, Adam Mitchell, Eric's family, ThoughtScape and Jack Sawyers we the fans of Eric have been treated to a great Fox dinner from Little Caesar's (I had to throw in a little pun)! =)

Although I haven't received my video yet, I did get my copy of the Eric Carr cd "Rockology" yesterday. It ROCKS!!!! It's all I've been listening to. It really makes you wonder why some of these songs were never put on a KISS album. They are definitely better than a few of Gene & Paul's songs that did appear on the albums. In short, if you haven't ordered this cd....you're missing out!
